The Redcoats is a term used to refer to soldiers in the British Army, especially from the 17^th to 19^th centuries. These uniforms were worn by the British infantrymen during the American Revolution, although at the time the opposing army was referred to as “Regulars”, “The King’s Men” or “Lobsterbacks”.  The facings of the uniform, including lapels, cuffs and collars, were not red, but instead different contrasting colors based on the regiment. Today the Redcoat is only worn during ceremonial events.
