Pirate Hook With Skull and Crossbone Cuff Pirate Hook With Skull and Crossbone Cuff - Pirate Hook With Skull and Crossbone Cuff... Price $7.99 | |||
Pirates go by many descriptive names; Buccaneer, Corsair, Brethren of the Coast and more. These often peg-legged, hook-handed or eye-patched thieves had a sweet spot for dandified dressing and would often plunder the fine silk fabrics off ships as part of their loot. Seventeenth to eighteenth century pirates donned short jackets, linen shirts, short canvas britches wool stockings and head scarf or stereotypical trihorn hat with elaborate plumage. A metal hook on a wooden base was also worn by those pirates who were less fortunate in a sword battle.
For those pirates whose daring or slow reflexes cost them precious body parts – a gouged eye was covered with a patch, a leg was replaced with a wooden peg or a hand replaced with a hook. Perhaps the most famous hook-handed pirate is Captain Hook from the beloved story of “Peter Pan”. A Pirate Hook costume features the traditional flamboyant jacket, jabot and breeches along with a plastic hook that you can hold discreetly under the sleeve. Pirate Hook costumes can be accessorized with eye patches, swords and daggers for a look that says you’re a treacherously tough dude.
