Half the mask but with all of the style and mystic of a full head covering, half mask are a great alternative for your Halloween or masquerade party costume. Half mask typically cover the area around the eyes, sometimes extending around the cheeks and up over the head. Half masks were extremely popular during the masked balls of Carnivale centuries ago in Europe and have continued on in popularity for Mardi Gras celebrations all over the world.

If you plan on going incognito for a Mardi Gras celebration or masquerade ball, select from one of many half masks festooned as a fantasy in feathers. As a tribute to yesteryear, many of these masks are attached to a single small dowel that you hold up to your face like sophisticated opera glasses, not dropping until the clock strikes midnight for the big reveal.
