Argh, matey! Ye can’t be a proper pirate without some fierce pirate accessories and makeup. You might think that a salty and rough-around-the-edges pirate might not be interested in such things, but pirates are actually known to be quite dandy. In addition to plundering and pillaging, pirates and buccaneers take the fine silks and laces on board as part of their spoils. Since men and boys and even females enjoy the pirate’s life, pirate accessories and makeup are ideal for everyone.

Accessories & Makeup: Pirate Costume Ideas

Spending hours in the sun requires a hat or head cover, try a leather pirate’s tricorn hat, a colorful scarf or a do-rag. Pirates, such as Captain Jack Sparrow, are also shown sporting dreadlocks. If you’ve not held up well swashbuckling then an eye patch, a wooden peg leg or hood hand may be in order. For the feet you’ll want a pair of over the knee leather boots that can be cuffed down and of course you’ll need a dagger or cutlass sword in case a mutiny is being planned on board. If you’re looking for a little extra company, ask a pirate wench to join you or at least set a toy parrot on your shoulder.
