Robin is one-half of the Dynamic Duo crime-fighting team.  As the sidekick to Batman, the character of Dick Grayson was introduced in 1940 as a way to attract the teenage generation. Together known as the Caped Crusaders, these two superheroes did not possess any supernatural powers and instead relied on their rigorous training and wit to get the job done. Dick Grayson was orphaned from his acrobatic family when a gangster extorted them and subsequently killed them off. Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, was investigating the crime and decided to take the 8 year-old boy into his care and help him become “The Boy Wonder”.

The medieval look of the original Robin costume was inspired by comic book creator’s fondness for “The Adventures of Robinhood”.  Available in sizes for children and adults, the typical Robin costume features green shorts or tights, a red shirt with green sleeves and an “R” logo, along with a red cape.  With his Robin costume, Dick Grayson also wore green elfish boots, green gloves and a green eye mask.
